Complete Organ Music

This 3CD set is the first to present the complete organ works of Johann Kuhnau (1660 1722), holder of several important posts in Germany before settling in Leipzig, where he was Cantor of the Thomaskirche until his death in 1722, when his friend Bach took over. Kuhnau's works, refined and melodic, make skilful use of dissonance in their Corelli like elegance. Organist Stefano Molardi plays a magnificent historic 1714 Silbermann Organ of the Freiberg Dom. His many recordings (including a highly praised complete Brilliant Classics Bach cycle) have won great acclaim in the international press.
