Resolve, by Richard-Allan Scientific, is one of the best brands of immersion oil. In light microscopy, oil immersion is a technique used to increase the resolution of a microscope. This is achieved by immersing both the objective lens and the specimen in a transparent oil of high refractive index, thereby increasing the numerical aperture of the objective lens. A drop of immersion oil between the slide and condenser, and between the slide and objective lens, provides a distortion-free path for light. Safe for all lenses, this low viscosity immersion oil is of low viscosity. For laboratory use only.
