Description

  • Set of 3 jingles: the Kanji features 3 jingles to add a bright shimmer to the sound
  • Hardwood shell: The hardwood frame of this drum produces a smooth sustain along with great dynamic and tonal range (measures 7 1/2" X 2 1/4")
  • Hand selected goat head: This hand drum is equipped with a goat skin head that provides warm and earthy tone
  • Internal Lug tuning system: tuning lugs on the inside of the shell allow players to easily change the sound and tension of the drum
  • Add cultural sounds: the unique timbre of the Kanji drum is designed for traditional South Indian styles but it may be used in contemporary music to add unexpected flavors

The Kanji is a traditional frame drum from Southern India that is played with bending pitch and split hand techniques. Amazing sounds and complex rhythms are possible from this rich little drum.
