When coping means cutting, healing can’t come.

When Krystal’s parents separate, she is thrust into a new home and a new school. Forced to live in the man’ house her mother had an affair with, she is ashamed. Alone and suffering in silence, she deals with the pain the only way she knows how – with a broken piece of glass.

At school, she makes one friend, Em, who invites her to volunteer with her family. Together, they serve soup and work alongside a unique bunch at the local homeless shelter. When she sees a boy from her school in the food line, he begs her to keep his secret.
