Mikuni Hs40 Air Intake Adapter for Enabling the fitting of a (Sold Separately) HSR42 CV/S&S Air Filter Adapter

This Mikuni HS40 Air Intake Adapter is designed so as to allow the use of a Mikuni Harley Davidson HSR42 CV or S&S Air Filter Adapter. It is also available for use on other motorcycles running a Mikuni TM40-6 and requiring an extension when wanting to use the standard OEM air-box. This adapter may require shortening for some of these other applications where correct length sleeves are not available. The adapter is made from silver anodized aluminum. This adapter sleeve has been designed and manufactured for a good interference fit over the Mikuni carburetor spigot. The sleeve has a 55mm ID at the carburetor spigot with a 6mm extension at 65mm OD. This spigot must be installed by a competent person. It is recommended to carefully remove with a fine file any protruding castings found on some carburetor spigots before pressing on the new sleeve. When pressing on the sleeve we recommend the use of a high strength 620 Loctite retaining compound or high strength two pack epoxy. The adhesive besides helping bond both items together will fill and seal any imperfections found on some carburetor spigots and also acts a a slight lubricant for the fitment.
