In the years since Selena's death, label officials have released numerous hit compilations. Many of the big hits are here, from "Como la Flor" and "Mentiras" to early material such as "Que Creias" and "No Quiero Saber." The CD also includes the Juan Gabriel-penned classic "Costumbres," and here a young Selena does her best to interpret this torchy ranchera. Also cool are her hip cumbias "La Carcacha" and "Baila Esta Cumbia," where the young singer took a page from the tropical-cumbiero master Fito Olivares. But even the simple tunes like the melodic "Yo Fui Aquella," and the rhythmic cumbia "Besitos" maintain a breezy charm. --Ramiro Burr
