He is an Algerian scholar whose full name is AbÅ« YazÄ«d Ê¿Abdur RaḥmÄn bin Muḥammad al-á¹¢aghÄ«r bin Muḥammad bin ʿĀmir. He is most commonly known as "al-Akhá¸arÄ«." He followed the MÄlikÄ« school in fiqh and the AshÊ¿arÄ« school in creed. He is considered to be from amongst the great scholars of Islam and the distinguished scholars of Algeria in the 10th century Hijra.
