Description

Winnie-the-Pooh is the most popular children's book in the world and in Sweden. Swedish is a language read and spoken by ten million people in Sweden and in parts of neighboring Finland. This translation of this book into Swedish is by Brita af Geijerstam. When Winnie the Pooh first came out in 1926, she received it as a gift from a friend in England. She started translating it to read it to her eldest son. When she finished the translations, she was encouraged her to go to Albert Bonnier's publishing house. She convinced him that the book would be a great sensation. He published it as a book in 1930. After that, there were picture books, short stories and coloring books in more than twenty editions all based on the translations by Brita af Geijerstam.
