Andreasâ€™ sister wished sheâ€™d noticed the signs before their dad hanged himself rather than recognise them once he was gone. Andreas is pretty sure heâ€™s seeing the same signs in Alex, a bloke heâ€™s had his eyes on for some time.

Alex is either bullied or ignored at school. Even worse, Andreasâ€™ best friend, Glenn, is one of the loudest bullies. He canâ€™t stand Alexâ€”and he makes sure everyone knows it.

But Glennâ€™s feelings donâ€™t deter Andreas, especially not now, when heâ€™s seeing signs in Alex he never saw years ago in his father. Heâ€™s not going to wait for the inevitable to happen. Heâ€™s approaching Alexâ€”and heâ€™s going to save his life.

Although this short story can be read as a stand-alone, it is advised to read the novel More Than Words beforehand.
