In addition to zinc pyrithione (ZnP), NF Bar Soap also contains a high percentage of nourishing olive oil, moisturizing emu oil, and gently exfoliating oatmeal. ZnP is a form of zinc with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It is used to treat dandruff, eczema, psoriasis, and many other skin conditions. Olive oil is used in soaps as a natural moisturizer. One of the best ways to treat eczema is to keep the skin from drying out. The oil creates a protective barrier for your skin which aids in soft skin. Emu oil is a traditional Australian aboriginal medicine rendered from the fat of the emu. When applied topically, the oil has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, easing swelling and contributing to the relief of psoriasis and other skin conditions. Calendula, a plant extract, is beneficial for dry or damaged skin and also promotes fast healing and regeneration of the skin do to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Oatmeal is great for the skin.
