  • Ethical and Direct Trade: We buy from small family farms practicing regenerative, organic certified agroforestry. Our small team travels to each of the cacao communities that we source from to establish reciprocal, long-term relationships that result in thriving for all
  • Sourced from Indigenous Farming Communities: These cacao beans come from 300 small (1-5 acre) organic family farms in the foothills of southern Belize. 75% of our farming families are indigenous Q'eqchi' and Mopan Maya, and they grow their cacao trees with deep respect and understanding of the local ecology
  • Traditional Harvesting and Fermentation Process: In the lush rainforest ecosystem, farmers harvest the ripe cacao pods, crack them open with a machete, and scoop out the fruit and seeds. Next fermentation transforms the flavor to the sensual taste of chocolate, and the seeds dry in the warm tropical sun
  • Low-Temperature Roasting Method: We low-temperature roast the cacao beans at our factory, keeping the beneficial compounds of the cacao intact while bringing out the flavor. This is exactly how we learned in Oaxaca Mexico, using a clay comal and coals from an open fire
  • Whole Roasted Cacao Beans: Cacao beans are the fermented and roasted seeds of the cacao tree, the most important ingredient in chocolate. We recommend peeling the cacao beans with a gentle twist of the fingers before consumption as a delicious snack
  • Organic Certified and Heavy Metals Tested: Our cacao beans are certified organic and undergo rigorous heavy metals testing to ensure quality and safety, providing you with a pure and wholesome product from regenerative agriculture practices
