Oleic Honing Oil for Sharpening Stones (1.7 fl. oz)
- Empty aluminum blank for stone
- Not for lapping films (use glass blanks instead)
- Put 1-2 drops of honing oil on the stone surface and spread it evenly
- Can be used separately or mixed with olive oil
- Non-hazardous
A honing oil prevents or slows down stone loading and increases sharpening performance. Gritomatic Honing Oil is pure oleic acid which is one of the best lubricants for oilstones. Multiple experiments have determined that oleic oil behaves better during sharpening in comparison with branded mineral oils. Oleic oil is recommended for all natural stones and ceramic stones.
