The greatest compliment that can be paid to any rockabilly band is that they sound authentic. Many have tried, some have come close, but on their 1992 sophomore effort, Big Sandy (Robert Williams) and his Fly-Rite Trio got it right, as in nailed it. Originally recorded down in Valdosta, Georgia, On the Go celebrates its 10th anniversary with a stateside release and a group of bonus tracks. Guitarist T.K. Smith made a name for himself with this album, putting him in a class with other six-string stars of the genre. Big Sandy and the lads have gone off in several directions in the course of the last 10 years, but here, in the beginning, they were spot on, and having this cult classic disc return signifies a joyous moment in an otherwise dreary world. --Henry Cabot Beck
