Organic Bloody Butcher red dent corn grown on our farm in Grundy county, Illinois. The corn has never left the farm. It was grown, harvested, cleaned and ground here. It's a non-GMO open pollinated heirloom variety and certified organic. The harder starch in this dent variety gives it a grittier texture than our blue flour cornmeal. Can be used for cornbread or grits and other baking uses. The whole kernel, germ included, are left in for better taste and nutrition; though it does then need to be refrigerated (or frozen) if stored for an extended period of time Allergy Notice: Our farm uses some of the same machinery to harvest and handle corn, soybeans, wheat, oats, buckwheat and field peas
