The PacTool SS724 Snapper Shear Pro Fiber Cement Cutting Shear is a universal shear head designed to cut fiber cement backer board like HardieBacker. It attaches to any cordless drill you already own (18 volts or higher is recommended). Because this tool cuts fiber cement with a shearing action, it makes virtually no dust, allowing you to cut indoors. Designed to cut both 1/4" and 1/2" backer board, the tool’s head can rotate 360 degrees to make straight, right-angle and curve cuts with precision. The shear head can even make circle cuts as small as 3" diameter for toilet flanges (although a 1 inch spade bit is recommended to start the cut). The handle rotates for left or right-handed users. The Snapper Shear Pro is the latest addition to PacTool’s innovative fiber cement cutting tools. All of them dramatically reduce airborne silica dust, making them one of the best ways to cut cement backer board.
