Parallel Lives: An Illustrated Latin Course for All. Workbook 1.

This workbook has been designed to complement, enhance and develop the themes already introduced in the textbook. These include Roman education and writing tools, slavery, Roman names and inscriptions, the Graeco-Roman Pantheon, Saturnalia, gladiators, the stories of Aeneas, Odysseus and Polyphemus etc.
The workbook is also an invaluable tool providing a variety of ways in which to introduce, practise and consolidate the relevant grammatical structures: from simple gap-fills, to games and cartoons.
Cognate work is present throughout, as is translation from English into Latin. The latter is presented in a palatable way, not only as direct translation modelled on examples, but also through ‘hidden’ translation focused on functions (such as designing gift-tags and dedications).
