Have a dish towel handy when changing your filter. 1. Locate the old filter and turn it counterclockwise (to the right) until the cartridge stops moving. Discard the old filter. 2. Push the new filter into the filter head. 3. Turn the new filter clockwise (to the left) until the cartridge stops. 4. Discard the first 3 gallons of water that are pushed through the filter to ensure water quality. 5. Reset your change filter indicator if applicable. *Tip: On almost all refrigerators, your reminder light is simply a 6 month timer, it doesn't measure water volume or tell you if your filter is clogged. Your filter may last for more or less time depending on your local water quality and how much water you use. If your water flow is reduced, or it begins to taste like tap water, you know it is time to change your filter.
