Description
- This kit contains all the premixed chemicals and supplies required to conduct the phenolphthalein blood test. The kit is packaged in a plastic box with the premixed liquid reagents in plastic dropper bottles. A known blood standard is included to monitor results.
- The phenolphthalein blood test, also known as the Kastle-Meyer test, is a presumptive test. This means it only suggests the presence of blood, not definitively confirms it. A positive result (pink color) indicates the possibility of blood, but other substances can also trigger the reaction, leading to false positives.
- The test is simple, quick, and inexpensive, making it useful for preliminary screening at crime scenes or in field investigations.
