APPLICATION. This 4:1 gear ratio can be used for slow and smooth rotational motion. This can be used for lift arms and grippers.
HOW IT WORKS. The worm gear acts as an incline plane that wraps around the central axis. The spur gear acts as a helical gear. The two gears are made to form and work together using mechanical advantage.
ADVANTAGES. This set greatly reduces the chance of a back-driving gear motor, so its position can be held even when power iis not applied.
SPECS. Each gear box weighs 105.5 grams. This pack includes an SAE 841 bronze spur gear and 303/304 stainless steal worm gear.
NOTE: The helical spur gear attaches to 4.7 mm D-shaft diameter. The worm gear attaches to 6 mm or 4.7 mm D-shaft diameters.
