Plants from the genus Pleiospilos are members of the Aizoaceae family. A large group of succulent plants found mainly in Southern Africa. This group of plants for historic reasons are known amongst collectors as 'Mesembryanthemums' or 'Mesembs'. Other well known members of this family to UK growers might include 'Lithops', 'Faucaria' and 'Conophytum'.
