This is the first Lanza compilation from Sepia Records to showcase the versatile tenor in all of the genres in which he excelled: opera, operetta, musical theatre, Neapolitan song, and popular song. It also features his only foray into South American music (Chilean composer Osmán Pérez Freire's ¡Ay, ay, ay!) and an outtake of Schubert's Ave Maria. The bonus tracks offer additional rarities: private rehearsals of two arias, a British television performance, and a revelatory acetate of Only a Rose. As a further attraction, this CD includes the tenor's inimitably phrased Come Prima, a romantic recording heard throughout Europe in 2017 via the soundtrack of Fiat's popular commercial starring Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody.
