Prokofiev: Six Operas

From The Gambler (written during WWI, when Prokofiev was in his mid-20s) to his Leo Tolstoy adaptation War and Peace (written during WWII), here are six complete operas by one of the most distinctive, inventive and gifted composers of the 20th century. Four of these six operas are currently out of print! Here are the aforementioned two plus Betrothal in a Monastery, The Fiery Angel, Love for Three Oranges and Semyon Kotko , performed by Valery Gergiev and the Kirov Opera and Orchestra of the Marisky Theatre.
