Kalyani's immediately identifiable sitar tone is a unique variant of the Vilayatkhani sound; her style mixes a vibrant rhythmic approach with Vilayat Khan's lyricism. Kalyani plays the morning raga Ramkali and a short semi-classical piece in raga Jogiya.
