Each piece is handcrafted with love and attention to detail. He uses a complex, yet beautiful blend of sand which is carefully selected for each frame color. Turn the sandpicture over to watch the battle of the elements: The sand just wants to settle at the bottom, the air just wants to escape to the top, the water hosts the party. The result is the sand trickles between the air bubbles to create fascinating stratifications in the sand mountains. A slower flow of sand will result in a delicate trickle of sand making more dramatic peaks and valleys. A faster flow of sand will make dune shapes.
