The 1958 full-size Chevy was the first year of the now famous Impala line. This model nameplate has been used almost continuously since then. The new â€˜58 Impala was longer, lower and wider than its predecessor. It had an all new frame design and a more powerful 348 cu. in. engine. This all helped move Chevy back up into first place in sales.
