It maintains stable internal pressure, with higher pressure elevating the coolant's boiling point to prevent overheating under diverse driving conditions. Should system pressure exceed the cap's rated value, the pressure relief valve opens, diverting excess pressure into the overflow reservoir to safeguard the radiator from damage.
