SADLAK INDUSTRIES SPRINGFIELD .308 TITANIUM AIRBORNE LIMITED PRODUCTION SCOPE MOUNT Sadlak Industries Titanium Airborne Scope Mount is based on the original Brookfield Precision Tool 3 Point Contact Design developed originally for the 10th Special Forces in the 1980's. It is the most rigid type available for the M14 Rifle and will not shoot loose due to recoil forces. It is the same design used on the upgraded 21 and XM25 Military Sniper Rifles , plus it includes the improved Sadlak Industries dual setscrew Clip Guide Key to further guard against loosening. This mount has a Picatinny 1913 Mil-Spec. rail with see through u channel groove for using iron sights when a scope is attached. Precision machined from a 3 pound solid block of heat treated forged titanium billet. The material is in limited supply and is a premium Titanium Alloy 6AL6V2SN ( Same alloy used on fighter jet landing gear parts) . It has been forged per MIL-T-9047G to further enhance yield and tensile strength. It is approximately 36% Lighter , yet stronger than steel . The underside of the mount has been relieved 5 degrees to deflect spent cartridges thrown vertically because of warn ejector parts . It is coated with a special non glare tungsten hard coat finish with a light non drying oil to enhance darkness. This special coating matches the gray/black parkerized finish found on older rifles yet will not look chalky over time and is more durable . The weight of this mount with hardware is under 6 ounces . As Sadlak Industries traced the progression of Springfield .308 scope mounting solutions employed by the military, they studied their evolution from the first U.S. Army Marksmanship Training Unit (USAMTU) prototype for the Leatherwood ART-I scope produced in aluminum, to the M21 ART-II scope and mount, and ending with the Brookfield Precision Tool steel mount for the upgraded M21 and M25 military sniper rifles.
