Seymour Duncan Custom 5 - Bridge - Nickel - Electric Guitar Pickup
Product Description
Seymour Duncan Custom 5 - Bridge - Nickel - Electric Guitar Pickup
- Originally called the Custom Custom Custom, the Custom 5 high output humbucker pickup began life in our Custom Shop as a response to players requesting a brighter, Alnico 5 version of the popular Custom Custom humbucker. It has a nice, full tone, a scooped midrange, and strikes a nice balance of bass & treble.
- The Custom 5's even response makes it extremely versatile and great for all types of music and playing styles. Match the Custom 5 with the 59 or Jazz neck model humbuckers for a perfectly balanced setup.
- Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Custom 5 uses an Alnico 5 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. Available in both standard humbucker or Trembucker spacing for 6-String, and in a passive mount 7-string configuration.
- Handmade in Santa Barbara, California: Seymour Duncan takes pride in designing and crafting our products to create the most amazing sound possible. That starts with providing an environment that attracts and retains our great team of engineers, product designers and craftsmen, many of whom have been with the company for decades.
- DCR Bridge: 14.10, Magnet: Alnico 5, 4c Shielded Cable
The Seymour Duncan SH-14 is like a higher output '59 Model with a deeper bottom end and expanded output. Perfect for pop, country, blues, classic rock and heavy rock.
Developed by contributors to the Seymour Duncan web user group who replaced the ceramic or Alnico 2 magnet in an SH-5 Custom or SH-11 Custom Custom with an Alnico 5. Compared to the SH-5 and SH-11, the Custom 5's tone is more vintage, with less distortion, but it's still very strong and powerful. Clean sounds are rich and full with enhanced presence.
Comes with four-conductor hookup cable. Recommended for bridge position. Often a Custom 5 is paired with a '59 for real-deal P.A.F. tones in the neck. For balanced and warm instruments. Works especially well with rosewood fingerboards.
Players include Paul Stanley / KISS, Troy VanLeeuwenQueens of the Stone Age, Bruce Kulick / Grand Funk Railroad & Union.
