Sheep blood agar is suitable for culturing many types of bacteria, especially hemolytic types. Since sheep's blood is used in this formulation, only prepoured dishes are available. You will receive 10 dishes in a sterilized, plastic wrapped sleeve. The dishes measure 100mm in diameter x 15mm deep. The agar itself has a depth of approximately 6-7mm. Pre-poured agar is perishable and must be refrigerated. It is best used within 4 weeks of receipt. Pre-poured agar is perishable and can not be returned for a refund. We guarantee that our agar is fresh and we cannot resell agar that has been shipped and returned. We generally ship agar Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so that it does not sit in a truck over the weekend. If you order on Thursday, your order should go out on Monday or Tuesday unless you contact us to arrange quicker shipping. Please refrigerate your agar immediately upon delivery. Due to the importance of freshness of Agar, we only keep a certain amount of pre-poured plates in stock ready to ship, more in science fair season. For large orders, please allow a few extra days for delivery so that we can manufacturer them fresh for you.
