• This listing is for (2) 2.5 pound oak sawdust substrate mushroom grow bags for 5 lb in total. This product is made from the finest ingredients. We combine pure virgin oak sawdust, food grade sulfur and calcium together with whole millet meal and worm casting tea in an large mushroom grow bag which has a self healing inoculation port and .5 micron gas exchange filter. All bags are fully sterile and ready to use.
• Every order includes a Prep Kit containing nitrile gloves, alcohol swabs and a face mask so you don't have to buy them. Most substrate vendors do not include a prep kit.. You will also receive a mini water misting bottle.
• Mycelium is a living and breathing organism that needs air to colonize. Often the bottom of the grow bag can become a dead zone due to lack of air so move the bag enough to get some air down to the bottom of the bag if you see that happening.
• Once fully colonized cut a 1/2" criss cross X in the bag where you want the mushrooms to grow. Do not remove small plastic flaps where you cut. lightly score subtrate with a fork and let cut part of bag soak in water in the refrigerator for 12 hours or so to active the substrate. once a day lift flap to light mist substrate until tiny mushroom pins appear and then very lightly mist 2-3 times per day until harvest. Keep fruting temp and humidity at levels desirable for the species you are growing if possible.
