Simpson Strong-Tie BCS2-2/4Z BCS ZMAX Galvanized Post Cap for Double 2X Beam, 4X Post
- Provides a positive connection for a post to a wood deck
- Stronger than angled nailing or screw fastening
- Reduces the chance of the post splitting and eliminates nailing into end grain
- Not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)
- Nominal size: Double 2x beam, 4x post
The BCS allows for connection of two 2 x 's to a 4 x post. The BC series offers dual purpose post cap/base for light cap or base connections. Double shear nailing between beam and post gives added strength. Designed to be more secure than toe-nailing.
