Skin Obsession's Gentle Milk Cleanser is a non-foaming mild cleanser that is good for any skin type. The soothing agents of aloe, milk, chamomile distillate, lavender distillate and green tea extract make this cleanser ultra mild and refreshing. The gentle natural exfoliating agents of organic multi-fruit acids found in bilberry extract, sugar cane extract, sugar maple extract, orange fruit extract, lemon extract and cranberry extract leave your skin feeling clean but not stripped. Non-foaming milk cleansers are very effective cleansers for oily, dry, mature, sensitive and normal skin types. The Gentle Milk Cleanser does not contain the typical surfactant or detergent ingredient that most cleansers contain. It is composed of oils and fats which are mild and effective cleansing agents. All oils and fats are complex compounds called triglycerides. Oils and fats are a mixture of triglycerides with a different fatty acid attached. All fatty acid molecules are both lipophilic and hydrophilic. Lipophilic means that it has a great affinity for oil. Hydrophilic means that it has a great affinity for water. The hydrophilic molecules are attracted to water which helps the water "wet" the surface to be cleaned, permitting the water to reach more of the surface. The lipophilic molecules act like a magnet and are attracted to dirt and oils, they embed into the dirt and remove it. The lipophilic molecules show affinity toward oil and the molecules squeeze together in an attempt to escape water. The action of the hydrophilic molecules and the lipophilic molecules allows product to break the surface tension and forces water into the skin, allowing it to remove the dirt and oils beyond your skins surface. While it removes dirt and oils, it does it gently, without stripping your skin of moisture.
