Song of the Horse is a compilation of 21 horse themed songs that Wylie & the Wild West have recorded over the past 20 years. Wylie's passion for the horse and its rare beauty are captured in some of the group's most poignant songwriting and heartfelt performances. My heart resonates with the beautiful words of Billy Shakespeare: A Horse, A Horse! My kingdom for a horse! Over that last several thousand years many a horseman and horsewoman have come to experience the life giving power of good horses. To me the horse is a reflection of God s beauty and grace. It was one of His greatest blessings to us plodding pedestrians. Astride a horse we are able to elevate our souls. In 1939 My father Rib and his brother Duke took a journey to Marfa TX to purchase some Quarter Horse seed stock to improve the genetics of their using horses, and so along with the rest of my family I have had the luck of being raised around good horses. Sorrels, bays, roans and greys gallop through my dreams. Their song I will never stop singing until I take my last glorious ride into the land of a thousand hills. Wylie Galt Gustafson
