This feature can operate on solar and battery power when set to the on position. In good sunlight conditions, the it will be powered by solar energy.

This pump can operate on solar power when set to the "On" position. The battery pack will be recharged via solar energy. If it is dark or cloudy the battery can still run, just push the battery on/off button. If fully charged, the batteries will power the pump for up to 4 hours. When the batteries are depleted, just push the on/off button again to switch to solar power. The pump will then resume running when the sun comes out.
