Symphonies 1 & 3

Gernsheim's life was European through and through. Born in Worms in 1839, he became the Leipzig Conservatory's youngest pupil enrolling at age 13. Gernsheim's career took him to Paris, then music festivals in Mainz and Cologne and finally, Berlin. His wide travels are reflected in these magnificent 4 symphonies.
