There are normally 3 commonly used color temperatures 2700k, 4000k and 6000k. 2700k is known as warm white, which is similar to color of incandescent bulbs. It is yellowish which usually used to create a warm and moody atmosphere.
4000k is sometimes called natural daylight, it is somewhere between warm white and cool white. It is not completely white but with a little bit of yellowish. If you are looking for a color not too yellow and not too cool, 4000k is right for you.
6000k is known as cool white or white. It is completely white, which is great for general lighting etc.
