Glenn Jones last album for RCA was the pleasant 1986 success, Take It From Me. The single "Stay" was a soulful hit, which also featured in the movie Youngblood, but overall Jones was still building his reputation after being a prime gospel singer.
The album sees Jones demonstrate the resounding presence and soulful mannerisms that eventually made him a hit artist, as his pure, gospel-rooted approach is remarkable for its juxtaposition of sensitivity and grit.
Jones delivered this superb album with the support of musical heavyweight vocalists of Audrey Wheeler, La Forrest Cope, Genobia Jeter and Siedah Garrett.
