It offers improved image quality and faster, more precise autofocus powered by TAMRON’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme torque Drive) linear motor focus mechanism. With a maximum magnification ratio of 1:1.9 at the 25mm wide end, the lens also provides half-macro shooting.

It faithfully reproduces textures and fine details—even the subtle nuances of skin and individual strands of hair in portraits—with striking clarity.
  • At the 25mm wide end, the lens achieves a minimum object distance of just 6.3″” (0.16m) allowing for an impressive maximum magnification ratio of 1:1.9—an improvement over the 1:3.1 of the first-generation model at its 28mm. This allows half-macro shooting at the 25mm wide end and lets you get closer to your subject across the entire zoom range.
