"This 60-1/2 low angle block plane is the perfect tool for smaller smoothing and trimming jobs. The low angle design excels at slicing through end grain. This block plane is ideal for the cabinet maker and discerning woodworker. The body is made from nearly indestructible stress-relieved ductile cast iron. The sole and sides are precision lapped to within 0.001" over the entire length of the sole. Overall length is 7 inches long, 2-1/8 inches wide. Weight is 1.8 pounds. The stainless steel knuckle joint cap snaps in place to secure the blade and provides a comfortable palm rest for extended use. The blade is adjusted forward/back via the solid brass rear adjustment knob. The 1/8 inch thick by 1-5/8 inch wide tool steel iron is hardened and tempered to 55-60 Rockwell C. Blade is ground at 25 degrees. The mouth opening can be easily adjusted for both fine and coarse work. This plane has good mass to reduce chatter and can easily be used one-handed. Bed angle is 12 degrees. "
