The Art of Flavius J. Fisher (Steely Mini-History Series)
This is the biography of the portrait artist Flavius J. Fisher of Lynchburg, Richmond, and Washington D.C. He became one of the more prolific painters in the District of Columbia during the last of the 19th Century. His student, a cousin named William Henry Huddle, moved to Austin, Texas, and eventually had 32 of his paintings hung in the Texas Capitol. Fisher has five paintings in the Virginia Capitol, and before Hurricane Katrina had four in the old Mississippi Capitol.
