The Book on BIT
Description
This updated version of the Book on BIT contains two main additions in the field of behavioral intervention. The first is a reaction to the Office for Civil Rights standards regarding medical withdrawals. Following the 2011 removal of “harm to self†from the guidelines, colleges and universities have been forced to be more creative in managing suicidal students on campus. The second update deepens and clarifies research and writings offered in the first version of the Book on BIT. This book builds on the seminal work of W. Scott Lewis and Brett A. Sokolow on the NaBITA Threat Assessment Tool and The NCHERM Group Risk Rubric and their numerous writings in the field of threat assessment and behavioral intervention. This updated edition includes new research in the field of threat assessment, a more defined and empirically supported risk rubric, and policy updates and new writings.
