The Complete Bowdoin College Concert, 1960

Bowdoin, a small liberal arts college in Maine was the setting for this previously unreleased 1960 live performance. It was before the political upheavals and social revolutions that would rock college campuses only a few years later when much more of society synched with Seeger s ideals. A mixed crowd of young folkies, jazz fans, democrats & republicans, heard an exemplary mix of traditional, current topical songs, sea chanteys & world music tunes. Seeger also used this concert as the perfect opportunity to expose students to Lead Belly s music & even managed to get a couple of good digs at Congress.
