Volume 1 introduced the world of shoji and kumiko patterns; Volume 2 continues the journey and builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in the first book to tackle slightly more complex shoji and kumiko designs.

Volume 2 features two shoji, and six separate kumiko patterns. With 160 photographs and line and dimensional drawings, the book gives detailed step-by-step instructions for all processes in making the new kumiko patternsâ€”from calculating pattern dimensions to the most efficient sequence for cutting and assembling the kumiko. No special tools are required to make these patterns, and there are no additional jigs other than those explained in the first book to be made.

Processes covered in Volume 1 are not explained again, so to get the most out of Volume 2, you will need to buy the first book.
