This important compilation brings together all the mid-50's material recorded by the Modern Jazz Quartet and Jimmy Giuffre featuring tracks from the Atlantic album THE MODERN JAZZ QUARTET AT MUSIC INN (1956), some MJQ/Giuffre Trio collaborations on a Third Stream Music anthology and all of the Atlantic album : HISTORIC JAZZ CONCERT AT MUSIC INN also recorded in 1956 in Lennox, Massachusetts. This latter recording appears on CD for the first time.
