Upton Sinclair was a very influential American author in the 20th century. Sinclair won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1943 and he is still among the most widely read authors today. Sinclair was a prolific writer and his books often served as harsh criticisms towards American's economic conditions and its society as a whole. The Profits of Religion is a book that discusses the different religious movements in the United States before World War I.
