The Trouble with Love

When history teacher Tony Wilkes decides to put himself out there and try to meet new people, he finds himself in a small guitar class. There, he sees Samuel Taylor for the first time. Samuel, it turns out, is about to be Tonyâ€™s new boss, but Tony is positive the guy is a complete waste of time.

Odd-looking, awkward, and antisocial, Samuel seems to struggle with just about everything. He canâ€™t strum a guitar or handle a drink with friends. So when he shows up as the new vice principal at Tonyâ€™s school, Tony is already against him. After all, another person was supposed to get the job and was passed over so Samuel could have it. Why should anyone be on this guyâ€™s side?

However, Samuel has some hidden talents. For starters, he is amazing at talking to the kids who spend their days torturing their classmates or getting into fights. Tony gets the chance to observe his new boss with a group of them and feels a slight stir in his heart. Was he wrong about this guy? And why is he suddenly so attracted to him?

Just as Tony is struggling with his own emotions, an angry parent learns Samuel is gay and panics, claiming a homosexual administrator is a danger to the school. Suddenly, everything is covered in scandal and Tony wants nothing more than to help the public see Samuel the same way he doesâ€”as a caring and intelligent adult. He also wants Samuel to see that he has feelings for him, but the rumor mill and the craziness of angry parents prove to be a huge hindrance.

All Tony wants is to reach out and find something truly newâ€”the love of his life. Is it Samuel? Tony desperately hopes that it is this strange but amazing man who has suddenly come into his life.
