After a terrorist attack destroys Washington, D.C., Evelyn Tucker embarks on a 6,000-mile journey to reunite with her daughter. She is forced to abandon her privileged lifestyle and trust in the lower class characters she meets, all of whom seem better equipped to handle hardship than she. When Evelyn comes to stay at a ranch inhabited by members of a secret society, she is confronted with the truth about who controls global events, their role in her sojourn, and even her husband’s fate.
