The script is the mantra of Avalokteshwara the Buddha of compasstion and it means "hail to the jewel in the lotus". Mani means jewel and pema means lotus. OM includes three letters which are AH, O and MA and it is also Om Ah and the last letter HUM together makes the word OM AH HUM.
