These traditional cakes help support the monastic life of prayer and hospitality of the Trappist Abbey community. The monks have perfected their recipe and techniques over time, creating the highest quality cakes with fresh ingredients aged to perfection.
The Tropical Dessert Cake is newest addition to the abbey's line of moist heavy-bodied, quality cakes. The dessert cake is a twist on a traditional dark fruitcake. It's created with almond and macadamia nuts mixed with the tropical fruits of papaya, mango and pineapple. After baking the cake is soaked in spiced rum and left to age for 8 weeks.
