Product Description

Vincent Dubois Plays the Cavaille-Coll at Saint-Sulpice in Paris, France

This disc will play on a standard CD player, but an SACD player is needed to hear it in Surround Sound.

Vincent Dubois is one of the brightest young talents in the organ world. In the summer of 2006 he was given permission to record the Cavaillé-Coll masterpiece at Saint-Sulpice for JAV Recordings.

Included in the 32-page booklet that accompanies the CD is an interview with Michel Goussu, the organ builder who cares for and was part of the team that recently restored the instrument. Michel Goussu discusses fascinating details about the history, design and care of the organ at Saint-Sulpice. A photo essay of Vincent Dubois recording the Liszt, working with the two registrants making the crescendos and decrescendo, is also included in the CD booklet.

This CD was produced and recorded by Christoph Frommen in SACD Surround Sound. Surround Sound Recording is the ultimate in audio technology, which creates extraordinary sonic definition and reproduction of the room ambiance.
